  • Why install a solar system?
Simply put, going solar saves money, gives you control over your energy costs, helps the environment and gives you energy independence. Installing a solar energy system will enable you to cut ties from your utility company over time. This puts you in charge of your energy costs with no surprise charges or price increases. You will be completely independent from your utility company by generating your own electricity. Getting a solar energy system installed is also much more affordable now than it used to be.
  • What is the process to go solar and how long does it take?
First we need to determine your electricity usage from the past year im order for us to determine how much electricity you need the solar panels to produce. Then we move on to design, getting permits and informing you utility company that you are installing solar. This step can take from a few days to a few weeks, depending on the size of your system, which city you live in and your utility company. Once this is done, we can move on to installing you solar panels, which takes from a day if you have a smaller system, to 4 days if you have a large system. Then we move on to inspection from building and safety. Once they approve it, they send over the approval to the utility company, who gives the final approval, or permission to operate. Most of the time, utilities don't need to do their own inspection, but they do need to install a new solar meter, so monitor you solar production. This process can take from a week to 4 weeks, with 2 weeks being the average. After the solar meter is installed, your solar system can be turned on ans set up for monitoring! In conclusion, depending on your city and the size of your solar system, you can have it up and running in a month. However, most solar projects take about 2-3 months.
